Curriculum Vitae

José Sánchez-Dehesa obtained his PhD in physics at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid in 1982. He was associate professor at the UAM from January 1985. From October 2003 he is full professor at the Universitat Politècnica de València, where he is the director of the Wave Phenomena Group, belonging to the Department of Electronic Engineering. He has been working on different problems in the physics of semiconductors, low-dimensional structures, optics and acoustics. His current work is mainly focused in the physics of acoustic and electromagnetic metamaterials, where he has tackled diferent topics, like acoustic cloaking, refractive acoustic devices, double negative metamaterials and, recently, wireless power transfer using EM metamterials. He has published about 200 articles in international journals and conference proceedings.
