CV Dr. Gilles A. Daigle

Dr. Gilles A. Daigle is currently a Researcher Emeritus with the National Research Council of Canada and a co-owner of MG Acoustics since 2009. He served as Group Leader for the Acoustics and Signal Processing Group from 1990 to 2000

He has worked on a broad range of acoustical topics including atmospheric sound propagation, noise control, noise barriers, environmental acoustics, hearing aid technology, telecommunications and multimedia acoustics and the acoustics of the ear. He has published well over 100 papers in Journals and Conference Proceedings as well several book Chapters.

A fellow of the Acoustical Society of America (ASA) since 1988, Dr. Daigle has received ASA’s R. Bruce Lindsay Award (1988), a Silver Medal for the French Acoustical Society (2002), and ASA’s Helmholtz-Rayleigh Interdisciplinary Silver Medal (2005). He has served on ASA’s Executive Council (1992-1995), as ASA’s Vice-President (200-2001), and as ASA’s President (2007-2008). He has also served as Secretary-General for the International Commission for Acoustics (1998-2001) and as its President (2001-2004). Dr. Daigle has served as a Vice-President for Internatiional INCE since 1996 and is currently its 5 th President (2009-2010).

Prior to his work at the National Research Council of Canada, Dr. Daigle served as Professor of Physics at the Université de Moncton.
