Michael Vorländer is Professor at RWTH Aachen University, Germany. He worked in various fields of acoustics at PTB Braunschweig on room acoustics, psychoacoustics and electro-acoustics. In 1995 habilitation at TU Dresden with a thesis on reciprocity calibration of microphones. Since 1996 he is directing the Institute of Technical Acoustics at RWTH Aachen University. He was Editor-in-Chief of the international journal ACTA ACUSTICA united with ACUSTICA and President of the European Acoustics Association, EAA, in the term 2004 – 2006. Among other awards, he was awarded with the RWB Stephens medal (IoA UK) in 2005 and Fellow of ASA in 2006. His interests are room acoustics, building acoustics, binaural technology, acoustic measurements and particularly auralization.
